VICKREY provided civil engineering design services for the Stage Run Subdivision, a small-lot single family subdivision located near Boerne Stage Road and IH-10. The utility improvements for the subdivision included the design of approximately 10,000 lf of 8-inch sanitary sewer main, 12,000 lf of 8-inch water main and 7400 lf of 12-inch water main. The overall layout of the subdivision was designed to accommodate and preserve the natural resources of the area. VICKREY laid out the entry road with medians designed to enhance the experience of visitors as they approach neighborhood recreational areas and placed the playground, swimming pool and basketball court at the heart of the development. The firm designed the drainage systems to weave amongst the trees to preserve the pureness of the land and established interceptor berms to capture offsite drainage flows with minimal disturbance to the trees and soil. We also analyzed drainage patterns to determine the optimum location for the water quality basins to provide water quality enhancement for the 109.95-acre development. The drainage systems throughout the project were linked to the water quality ponds to provide 100% capture. The water quality design incorporated the use of a sedimentation and filtration basin. The filtration basin used a sand filtration method with a pipe under drain system.
