2006 Best of Health Care Design Project Award

The Peveto Center for Pastoral Care won The Best of Health Care Design Project Award by Texas Construction Magazine in 2006.

Our founder, Wm. Kennon Vickrey, worked closely with the University Health System Foundation Board to raise funds and develop the 3,000 sq. ft. Peveto Center for Pastoral Care located at 4502 Medical Drive in San Antonio, Texas. The design of the chapel is meant to encourage spiritual growth and help comfort individuals in a time of crisis.  Located in the main lobby garden of University Hospital, the Peveto Center for Pastoral Care provides an intimate prayer, worship, and meditation space for individuals and groups of all faiths and denominations.

VICKREY oversaw the planning, design, and construction process and acted as the Owners Representative throughout this nearly $2 million project. Funded through community donations, the building and programs of the Peveto Center are intended to honor the memory and legacy of Freda Peveto, and honor John Peveto for his many gifts and contributions to the Health System and its patients.
