UTSA Blvd. (Edward Ximenes – Babcock Rd.) is officially open with December’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Mayor Ron Nirenberg, District 8 Councilman Manny Pelaez, Director of TCI & City Engineer Mike Frisbie, PE, TCI Interim Capital Programs Manager David McBeth, PE, UTSA President Taylor Eighmy, PhD, Bexar Metro Area Engineer (TxDOT) Eddie Reyes, PE, VICKREY President Brenda Vickrey Johnson and Vice President Susan Landreth, PE celebrated this $7M City of San Antonio and TxDOT joint initiative that widened UTSA Blvd. from an existing two-lane street to a four-lane street with median and left-turn lanes. The new street has 10-ft wide shared-use paths on both sides with separation from the traveled lanes to provide safe pedestrian and bike traffic. VICKREY served as Prime Consultant providing street design, utility design, construction administration, and surveying.
