VICKREY provided civil engineering and surveying services for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s 150,000 square foot Field Office in San Antonio, Texas. The design-build project included a four-story office building, two-story parking garage, and automotive maintenance annex. The facility was designed to meet federal guidelines for security and blast resistance and included two guard houses and a concrete barrier designed to withstand high–speed vehicular collisions.

We provided innovative civil designs to solve complex site issues such as steep grades, security features, and drainage, while also meeting DOD anti-terrorism design standards and preserving the site’s natural environment. Factors affecting complex grading of the site included wall and fence heights, slope of the adjacent ground, and lines of sight. VICKREY also incorporated sustainable design elements including natural materials, limestone, green space, and tree preservation.

The firm was involved in all project phases, including schematic design, final design, platting, permitting, surveying, and construction.
