This project included the design to extend a 4-lane street with median and left turn lanes improving the street as possible in accordance with complete street standards.  A right turn lane is being added to east bound Knights Cross at the Hardy Oak intersection.  The new street will have a 10-foot wide shared use path on the west side of the street adjacent to the traveled lanes of the street.  The traffic signal at Hardy Oak and Knights Cross will be upgraded to include pedestrian signal heads and crosswalks meeting ADA requirements.  Drainage enhancements designed for the project include new curb inlets with junction boxes and trunk mains. Also included are WPAPs, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, and Aquifer Protection Plans that incorporate erosion and sedimentation controls. Tree preservation and mitigation plans are being prepared showing the saving of numerous existing trees with new trees planted as mitigation.  Field topographical survey has been performed of the existing improvements including utility locates.  Utility coordination includes working with SAWS and CPS Energy to identify conflicts among gas, water, and storm drain systems and designing the required adjustments.
